I'm John Gill. I'm a designer / developer that strives to make digital user experiences beautiful, simple, and easy to use. I'm obsessed with pixel-perfect execution. I think little details make big differences. I enjoy seeing projects through from napkin drawing to release. And then I want to optimize, streamline, and simplify in pursuit of a better product.
I think a crystal-clear view of the big picture is as important as the passion to execute on every detail and that good design is a combination of art and science that creates elegantly simple experiences.
I'm a problem-solver that enjoys overcoming difficult or seemingly impossible challenges. I've completed large-scale projects independently as well as with teams of designers and developers.
Below is a list of competencies I consider myself to have.
*I'm weird ... I use Flash as a vector drawing tool even though most normal people would use Photoshop or Illustrator.
“People think it's this veneer, that the designers are handed this box and told, ‘Make it look good!’ That's not what we think design is. It's not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” — Steve
